The Slowdown Studio

Behind The Studio

A space to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with yourself.

Cindy - Founder of The Slowdown Studio

Hi, I'm Cindy

Founder & Therapist

For years, I lived with chronic illness that no one could fully explain or resolve.

It was something I had carried with me for as long as I can remember, and over time it became my normal. I was always searching for answers, hoping something would finally make a difference.

It was only later that I began to understand something I had never been taught:
healing can begin when you slow down.

As I started to look a little deeper, I realised that I had experienced a difficult childhood that I had never truly acknowledged. I had learned to keep going, to cope, to push things aside.

At the time, it felt like strength, but over the years it left me feeling disconnected from myself and from my body. I went from doctor to doctor, trying different medications and treatments, hoping something would finally work. Nothing really changed how I felt. If anything, I felt more lost and more disconnected.

Everything started to shift when I began therapy.

For the first time, I allowed myself to slow down and really listen to what was going on beneath the surface. Slowly, in ways I didn’t expect, my body began to respond. My symptoms eased and I began to feel a sense of relief and hope that I hadn’t experienced before.

What started as a personal journey turned into a real desire to support others who feel stuck, unheard, or exhausted from trying everything.

The Slowdown Studio is a space for people who are ready for a different approach. A space to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with yourself. Especially if you have tried everything and still do not feel better, this space is for you.

You are not broken. And you are not alone.

Meet Darcy

Darcy, our beloved family cat and the inspiration behind the studio's mascot, was rescued from a river when she was only a few weeks old.

Despite her turbulent start, the warmth of her little soul wasn’t lost. With safety, space and connection she grew into a gentle, affectionate and intuitive companion. Her presence has long been a source of grounding, offering quiet comfort and reassurance in moments of chaos and overwhelm.

Like many cats, Darcy naturally honors her own boundaries. She routinely enjoys basking in the afternoon sun after a busy morning of friends and play.

She serves as a simple but powerful reminder that closeness and healthy boundaries are not opposites—they can exist together in perfect balance.
